Karogoto Wet Mill, located near Karatina in Nyeri, Kenya, is part of the Tekangu Farmers Cooperative Society and serves over 1,000 active farmers, including 421 women producers. Farmers deliver handpicked cherries to the mill, where they are carefully sorted, pulped, and fermented in fresh water overnight before being washed and dried on raised African beds for two to three weeks until they reach the right moisture level. Karogoto’s meticulous processing, aligned with Nyeri’s traditional auction system, produces exceptional coffees.

Nyeri County, in Kenya’s central highlands, is one of the country’s most renowned coffee regions, celebrated for producing some of the world’s finest Arabica. Situated between the Aberdare Range and the western slopes of Mt. Kenya, its high elevations, fertile volcanic soils, and cool temperatures provide ideal conditions for slow cherry maturation, resulting in dense beans with exceptional clarity, acidity, and complexity in the cup.
